One word. Amazing.

This is such an epic soundtrack it has made my whole library of music obselete and all I listen to is this. Even people who aren't fans of the game will immensly appreciate the orchestral scores of Joris de Man. There isn't a wasted note. This is an essential purchase for anybody and makes shivers run down your spine even after an hour of it repeating. Every time you listen a new part of the music clicks in your mind you didn't notice before, it seems to get better the more you listen to it. 5 stars.

Incredibly Gripping, Solid & Refined

I must admit, this soundtrack is far from original - it actually contains very familiar themes we've all heard in movies and games. There is nothing new. HOWEVER, there is something remarkable about Joris's composition and production here - it is extremely well done. He's taken the usual motifs, patterns and structures we all know and has then re-rendered it to make it so solid and then into (and incredibly) one of the most exciting and atmospherically gripping scores that I have heard in a long time. Joris has successfully re-created and revived a predictable genre of music into something worth listening to over and over again as if it were new. Clearly Joris has an immense talent and we may see more of him in the future in Hollywood. Brilliant.

PlayStation3-exclusive Killzone 2 is gilded with sky-high production values, but second only to its extraordinary visual fidelity is Joris De Man's rousing score. Modern day action movies should be so lucky as to get such a vital and dynamic soundtrack as this.
Many of the pieces here incorporate both the aspirational righteousness of the ISA in tracks like "Flight Into Blood Meridian" with the totaliterian, Wagner-esque grandeur of the Helghast and Scolar Visari in the awesome "The Police Station". De Man makes use of percussion and strings to goosebump-inducing effect, capturing the grand notions in the ideology of each side whilst perfectly contemplating the games' blitzkrieg of metal and bullets, and it's ferocious, dense gameplay.
