As one half of Bristol legends Way Out West, Jody Wisternoff has been making atmospheric and emotive dance music for over a decade. Taking some time out to develop his solo career, Jody has released a number of uptempo electro house singles that reflect his peak time DJ sets in clubs across the globe.
Lassoo is a classic example of the Wisternoff sound, complete with throbbing baseline, swirling synths and stabs of 80's inspired keyboards but it's also track full of the kind of subtleties he made his name with, for example the gorgeous piano chords which creep into the second half of this track. For a moment they sweep the listener far away from the heaving dancefloor and into a calmer, more reflective place before smoothly returning them, just in time for another trademark breakdown.
Simply outstanding
