SUPERB

I THINK IT IS THERE BEST WORK TO DATE FANTASTIC.

Don't call it a comeback but...

This album was an opportunity for the (other) Reid Brothers to take advantage of their higher profile after their return to the charts with the rejuvenated "I'm Gonna Be" earlier this year and they haven't missed that opportunity. It's certainly their best album since "Sunshine on Leith" fifteen years ago. At a time when so many artists are resorting to blander and blander lyrics the words on "Life With You" address a variety of issues that irritate the Reids. So we get attacks on two faced musicians who accept honours ("In Recognition"), sexist musicians ("Here it comes again"), obsessives ("New religion) and a host of others. If that makes this album sound dull and boring nothing could be further from the truth. Every song has a great tune from the brass arrangement on the opening title track to the new single and Wreckless Eric song, Whole Wide World. It's not a comeback because the Proclaimers have never stopped making albums but in terms of quality it is a return to top form and it's up there with the best albums of 2007. Try it!

Real Music At Last !!!!!!!

So great to hear real music for a change with meaningful lyrics. Highly recommended.

Instead, the band was a post-punk pop band, aggressively displaying their thick accents on sweet, infectiously melodic songs about love, politics, and life in Scotland. After two albums in the late '80s (This Is the Story [1987], Sunshine...
