space age love songs

As debut long players go this is pretty damn impressive. the balance between the haunting and melancholic, sit perfectly against their opposite counterpoints. having seen Mirrors live i was intrigued to see how their songs would transfer, but an inspired choice of using Jonathan Kreinik to mix all the elements together has produced a heart felt and sublimely crafted record. Past musical references scream at you - i think every listener will have their own 'light bulb'' moment - for me it was the much under-rated Fiat Lux. As a starting point, you could do worse than start with 'Hide and Seek' and expand from there. The obvious omission of 'Lights And Offerings' is a bit odd and the inclusion of Marsheaux's remix of 'Into The Heart' would have sent this record into orbit . . . enjoy !

Excellent Retro Synth, but very fresh.

Wow, what an outstanding debut album from Mirrors.
This retro electro pop anthem is obviously heavily influenced by 70's, 80's synth bands like Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, XTC, etc. The audio commentary is also a great idea.
Also reminds me very much of early Killers work.

Refreshing

great music, great beats and great vocals! completely refreshing with a retro feel throughout...can't stop listening!
