Customer Reviews
Why are Elbow not the biggest band on the planet?
I've been an Elbow fan since the beginning and not just because they're my local band. Guy Garvey has a beautiful, smokey, melancholic voice and sings of heart ache and hope that could bring a tear to the eye of a stone statue - he's one of my musical heroes. They don't shout from the roof tops like all the current upstart guitar bands that talk the talk but all sound the same. They don't sound like anyone else, they don't follow trends, they just make amazing, beautiful and heartfelt music. They should be acclaimed far more than they are but maybe they prefer it this way? Any Elbow fan will have bought this live collection already. Anyone who loves real music should buy it immediately. You won't regret it.
Why didn't you throw your curtains wide?
This is not a criticism of Elbow. If you've been to one of their gigs you know about the charm, humour, emotion and raw atmosphere that these guys can create. I bought this (live) album because I thought that these qualities would come through, but it's all to polite. If you don't know Elbow buy 'Seldom Seen Kid' in my opinion a 'lifetime' LP. If you are a fan of Guy and his gang save your money on this and use it to buy a ticket the next time they're round your way.
A night to remember...
I was lucky enough to win tickets to the gig, and it was marvelous. Guy's voice it truly breathtaking. The set is a MUST for any Elbow fans. Buy it now!
