Album Review
With his latest album, San Francisco club phenomenon Ryan Raddon (aka Kaskade) moves decisively out of the house music ghetto, a direction in which he's clearly been moving for a couple of years. He's always been at his best when using his bumping grooves and bright synthetic textures to coax lush and beautiful vocal performances out of his various guest singers, and songs are very much the focus on Love Mysterious. In fact, there are no straight instrumental tracks at all, and there are even some (gulp) guitars. The program opens prettily with the silky "Stars Align," featuring singer Marcus Bentley, and then shifts into a sort of gospelly mode with the ambiguously spiritual "Be Still." A couple of boring tracks near the middle (notably the static and enervating "Fake") threaten to bog things down, but the album goes out with a gentle roar on the final three tracks: another Marcus Bentley vehicle titled "Sometimes," a soft and subtle number called "4 AM" and, best of all, the gorgeous "Never Ending," which features singer Joslyn and acts as a showcase for the kind of thing that Raddon does best: sweetly cathartic, club-inflected dance-pop with both feet on the dancefloor and both ears pointed towards heaven. Highly recommended.

better than you would expect
right then , i felt the need to write a review on this one. wasnt expecting to love it as much as i do. im a big fan of circada and this is in the same genre. the single BE STIll is excellent , its also a good place to start if you are intrested in this one. im a big fan of the upbeat tracks such as STARS ALIGHN and SOMETIMES but the more downbeat tacks like 4AM and IN THIS LIFE really strike a cord too. really fresh sounding , and if your anything like i have been about music lately and loosing faith that some decent stuff still exists .. this is for you. nothing ground breaking but instead just consistently a high standurd and worth your money anyday !! x
Kaskade does it again... but more so
Following from the compilation album 'here and now' (an absolute must for those not in the know)... comes the third Kaskade LP. This bloke does what very few artists manage... and that is to build upon past work to create an album genuinely better and more consistent than what has gone before. Many of his trademark sounds and beats are here and he's of course playing around with the current electro sound, but never deviating from what lovers of Kaskade have grown to admire... dreamy vocals, great melodies, and the ability to put a great big smile on your... and a tingle down the spine. Life affirming
killer tunes
i,ve got all of kaskades stuff and even though this took a few plays to get into its brilliant. the best tracks are "fake" ,"sorry" and "stars align". i discovered kaskade through hed kandi which has gone well off the boil now, but this album sounds fresh, raw and exciting and edgier than the previous albums. you wont be disappointed!
