I want to give more than 5 stars!
I have never before seen an album like this.
Even on fantastic albums that blow my mind, there are always one or two songs that I'm not wholly impressed with. No chance of that with this album. Every single song is absolutely astonishing. Delain combine simple pounding guitar riffs with very well written keyboard parts, and singer Charlotte sings some of the best vocals i have ever heard. Nightwish member Marco Hietala makes a lot of appearances on the album and his voice compliments Charlotte and the music perfectly.
Some of the highlights: The keyboard solo on Sever, the haunting music-box opening to Frozen, guest musician George Oosthoek's growls in the catchy chorus of Silhouette, WT's Sharon den Adel on No Compliance, Charlotte's vocals on See Me in Shadow, the catchy chorus of Shattered, pretty much all of The Gathering, the keyboards in Daylight Lucidity, pretty much all of Sleepwalkers, Liv Kristine on A Day for Ghosts, and Charlotte's last vocals on Pristine.
Yes, The whole album is a highlight. An absolute MUST BUY.
BRILLIANT ALBUM
This album is brilliant, I thought is sounds like Within Temptation, and when you look at the credits sure enough, Sharon and the band have had a hand in it. Still it is a cracking album. Highly Recommended
