I can't help liking this!
I've always been a big fan of the Beatles and I'll readily admit I love John Lennon, I like Julian Lennon, I like Aaron Lennon (I'm a Leeds United fan - he was from our academy - like his football style anyway!) and I Love 'Lucy' (wouldn't that be a great title for a sitcom series?).
I bought this, as it's for charity, and it had the name Lennon attached. The strange thing is.......I really like it! This is a truly catchy tune. I can imagine John himself wanting to be involved in this. It features a simple but really hooky melody with jangly guitars and a well constructed chorus and middle eight(s). Nothing less than you'd expect from people associated with the Lennon name. Julian's voice does sound remarkably like his Dad's in later years, especially when the harmonies come into play and James has a strong tone to it too (I'm sure there's another voice on there!).
This song is worth buying for the tune itself - but as it's for charity it seems like you're getting something joyful for the price of helping someone else! Total bargain - I hope it doesn't sink into obscurity but goes on to sell millions, a deserved number one single - just for the music!
My recommendation is buy it, buy it, buy it.
Great Song, Great Cause
Great song, and one that will raise money to help Doctors better understand Lupus, the disease the killed Lucy Vodden and has blighted the lives of so many young people.
Lucy was a fearsome advocate for greater awareness of this disease, and this is one way to honour her fight.
Plus, you can dance to it...
Buy it!
Fantastic tune-and for a good cause too!
