It's going to be a good 2011 . . .

Been a fan of Cold War Kids since their first album, but this is a step up from the Californians.
Gripping new sound from title track 'Mine Is Yours', which sets the bar high for the rest of the album.
But not at any point does this album dissappoint, conjuring potential hit singles left right and centre right up to my personal favourite, closing track 'Goodnight Tennessee'.

If it's a thrilling, diverse album you want, this is well worth a listen. Fact.

shame I don't have any money on my account :/

Sorry

Been a "fan" since the 1st album. I got up this morning & downloaded this album before I even had my coffee. I was so excited.
On listening I gotta say I'm disappointed. It's just too polished. Too well produced. Too dare I say "mainstream". Ok so CWK are gonna mature & change but I really thought they were their own band. I had never heard anything like them before. But this album.....well.....it's like the Killers or even U2. Pop pap. Are they trying for superstardom? Fair play if they are. We all wanna retire rich but I'm afraid it'll be at the expense of the original fans.
Where's the blues & soul & the heart wrenched strained vocals & drunk sounding pianos. Guitars with broken strings & songs about disease & death.
Maybe this is the happy album?!?! Or more like their chart album. Sorry CWK but it's 1 star from me.
