it's a blast
I'm not a death nutter thrash rock fan, but I think this album is a blast, a giggle, a real micky-take, not just of heavy rock but other genres as well. Maybe I'm reading it all wrong, but you have a listen and see what you think. TV II is very silly, but Hero is both sublimely brilliant and properly daft. I don't play it often, but when I do I feel VERY AWAKE! Ah go on, give it a go, have a small thrash fix!
Just one fix of Ministry
and you're hooked. Plenty of great tracks here, efficient, dark and funny too. My favorites are Just one fix, Jesus Built My Hot Rod (the fastest track on earth? The soundtrack of a road movie on speed?) and Psalm 69. It does remind you you are alive. Great great stuff!
Inspirational
I haven't heard this record for a very long time - It sounds even better than I remember, and has aged very well indeed. The production is fantastic. Its insanely heavy, varied in tempo, texture and special effects, and the attention to detail is superb. To enhance the record further, it displays flashes of dark and absurd humour that lift the mood and prevent it from becoming a one-dimensional barrage of distortion and misanthropy. Absolutely brilliant.
