Moses (Spaceland remix)

Love it. Waited a long time for any new stuff and after the disappointment of 'Underwater' this is way superior. Liz's vocals are superb, forget the negative comments, (there's no pleasing some Cocteau fans, SO CRITICAL!)..this is a very good on-form Elizabeth Fraser toon..

Welcome back

I check to see if Liz's website is up and running almost daily in my greed to hear her voice. Today I had an email not from there but from a Cocteau Twins forum site that she'd released a single. Thank GOD. And here it is. She's moved with the times which can only be a good thing, no-one is going to appreciate for long if she churned out something akin to "Pearly dew drops drops". I really hope there's an album soon and although I read she finds it difficult to write these days, please let her find the way to bring that VOICE into our lives. Brilliant effort! I think I speak for many when I say we've really missed her.

The lady is back

Thank you Elizabeth. The lady proves yet again just how remarkable she is with her exquisite vocal stylings. Some might say it's a 'walk in the park' compared to her earlier work. I'd ask this question - who could humanly sustain the vocal attack, range and artistry that Elizabeth Fraser so amply displayed over 25 years of recording?

That she can still sing at all is nothing short of a miracle. There is a gossamer beauty to Moses - love it for that.

The Cocteau Twins' Elizabeth Fraser was once described by a British critic as having "the voice of God." When the Cocteau Twins released their debut LP, Garlands, in 1982, Fraser's dreamy, otherworldly vocals stunned the U.K. press and legendary BBC DJ John Peel, who had the band perform live on his radio show before Garlands even hit the shelves. Born on August 29, 1958, in Falkirk, Scotland, Fraser joined the Cocteau Twins in the early '80s. (Guitarist Robin Guthrie was her boyfriend.) The Cocteau...
