Exactly as advertised
One of the few album compilations that lives up to its name. A genuinely well thought through and selected compilation of some of the best known classical tracks of our time, all of which will be familiar to the ear if not instantly to the eye. Very easy to pick up and enjoy without any prior classical history and in no way shrouded in the typical elitism that sometimes accompanies classical listening. The inclusion of contempory tracks such as Howard Shore's incredible overture to "The Lord of the Rings" and a very palatable arrangement of "My Heart will go on" (far more enjoyable than the motion picture original) make this compilation appealing to the younger film going generation as well as the older classical die hards. An excellent CD to listen to for students requiring clarity and peace for coursework or dissertations as well as a classical fan looking for a well chosen collection of the all time favourites.
