SUBLIME INDIE POP

A much-awaited new single from the sublime band Scottish band Camera Obscura, that follows on from their incredible 2007 album "Let's Get Out Of This County". I didn't think they could ever match the heights of that CD but if this single is anything to go by it looks the next one will be just as good. It has a style that echoes the great Phil Spector girl group singles on the 1960s, but set around the unique songs of lead singer Traceyanne Campbell.

The Scottish ensemble Camera Obscura formed in 1996, when vocalist Tracyanne Campbell, percussionist John Henderson, bassist Gavin Dunbar, and guitarist David Skirving began creating lush indie pop with orchestral flourishes and romantic lyrics. They went on to release a number of singles, one of which included contributions from Belle & Sebastian's Richard Colburn, whose band served as a stylistic touchstone for the young Camera Obscura.
