iTunes Review

Few artists have been more prolific than reggae crooner Gregory Isaacs, which makes an album as consistently great as the lovers rock classic Night Nurse all the more remarkable. Backed by frequent collaborators The Roots Radic Band, Isaacs (aka "The Cool Ruler") sounds cooler than ever. Whether asking forgiveness on "Objection Overruled," in search of some sexual healing on "Night Nurse," or hoping love can continue on "Sad to Know (You're Leaving)," his relaxed delivery makes the emotional timbres of these songs sublimely subtle. The album's polished roots vibe, with subtle synth flourishes contributes to its quiet energy. Lover's rock owes much to R&B. But Isaacs doesn't beg, scream, or shout. Instead, he projects a remove that on one hand makes him "The Man" and on the other reveals his resignation that the world of romance is beyond his control.

Wicked album from Mr Isaacs, start to finish his smooth vocals croon away over the heavy basslines and flawless production. Must Own Reggae Music.
