Stripped down at it's best
Having seen a few of Nik's live shows this album is an audible delight. Taking every classic track right back to grass root level demonstrate what a fantastic and underrated songwriter Nik is. From the reworking of Dancing Girls to the new tracks there is something for everyone here. a masterclass in how songs should be written & performed. How many of todays artists could strip a song down to one guitar and still have the power and emotion? Not many I would guess. By this and you will not be disappointed.
Still sounds Great
What an underrated talent Mr Kershaw is . This is Nik’s latest offering ( No he didn’t stop producing albums in the 1980’s ) where he takes some of his well known tunes and some which may be new to anyone who didn’t buy his later material ,and strips them down to their bare essentials for us to enjoy anew. This is just Nik the songs you love and an acoustic guitar so expertly played its almost hard to believe one man could give an instrument so many voices .I think its such a shame that when a radio station plays anything buy Nik Kershaw it will more often than not be ‘Wouldn’t it be Good’ , ‘Won’t Let the Sun go Down’, ‘ The Riddle’ or ‘Don Quixote’ because he’s produced so many more excellent songs over the years. A must buy for anyone who likes good honest music.I recommend you also check out 15 Minutes , To be Frank, Then and Now and You've got to Laugh also excellent albums by Nik Kershaw.
