Customer Reviews

His best album since "Taxi" & "Mamouna"

Smooth, atmospheric, dark and mysterious. Ferry's voice is so unique and gets better with age. If you like his solo work or like sophisticated adult pop, I don't think you'd be disappointed. It's classic Ferry, even down to the artwork!

What a vibe!

There is no doubt that Ferry is a national treasure and this, his thirteenth solo album, shows that he has lost none of his taste or creativity.
With Olympia, he serves up a heady cocktail that is laced with his trademarks - fabulous musicianship, great arrangements and production values that would make Cecil B de mille sit up and take notice! When it comes to creating atmosphere, he has few peers in modern music and his capacity to transport you to his intoxicating Scott Fitzgerald dream world is as refined as ever.
For me, the stand out tracks are the Ferry originals; 'Ode to Olympia', 'Reason or Rhyme', 'Tender is the Night' together with his interpretations of the Buckley and Traffic classics; 'Song to the Siren' and 'No Face, No Name, No Number.'
I was less impressed with the Ibiza inspired stuff and personally, I'm not a big fan of the drum machines that seam to underpin these tracks but, these are small criticisms - this is a fabulous album and any self-respecting Ferryista or Roxette should get their fix without delay!
He should tour with this album and play small, upscale venues that operate a door policy that demands glamour.

Simply stunning!
