temple chant heaven; dirt music glory!
Some great divine power must have brought you to this page. If you are here and don't know this album, you are standing on the threshold of life. Cross quickly. This folk/drone/psychedelic/experimental masterpiece is the best thing I have heard in years! With echoes of Faust, the Incredible String Band, early Pink Floyd, the Velvet Underground and Spacemen 3, NMH (pretty much one angel-voiced man and a fuzz box, apparently) have forged a music which surpasses all others. If you're not sure, just download "Someone Is Waiting". You'll be back for the rest before the end of the fade out.

The self-described "fuzz-folk" project Neutral Milk Hotel was one of the primary outgrowths of the Elephant 6 Recording Company collective, a coterie of like-minded, lo-fi indie groups — including the Apples (in stereo), the Olivia Tremor Control and Secret Square — who shared musicians, ideas, and sensibilities.
