still biffy with extra bits

by Big Biffy Fan

It makes you feel proud that a band like biffy have broken through, Bubbles is great, and That Golden Rule has some of the old quirky riffs that made them popular, with better production both great songs. Sure it's obvious there is commercial pressure at play here, and some of the choruses sound more like fall out boy! But then Who's got a match had bits of that too. Puzzle was still a bit experimental in parts. But this is still biffy whatever they do, and it is a great commercial album. The older style stuff is on B sides, and as others have said it is great that they still get a chance to put extra songs out that don't fit the marketing plan. I can't imagine a band like biffy just stopping writing how they used to cos they have done it for a nearly a decade now. They have just evolved and added more mainstream sounds, and at the minute that balance works. U2 took a few albums to get going their sound evolved and it's no different here. Lets get behind them cos finally the UK rock scene has a world beater! P.S. I'm an old fan too! Seen em 5 times! They are sublime!

Better than Puzzle. But not as good as the first 3 albums.

Not bad, few good songs. Better than the disapointing Puzzle. Not as good and the first 3 albums but its still better than most music out there.

Definately worth a listen for the good songs. Few songs are filler.

BEST TRACKS - That Golden Rule. Bubbles. Shock Shock. Boooom Blast Ruin.

Truly fab collection of songs, different in many ways from their previous recordings but fab nonetheless ! Everyone changes as they grow and develop and I think it only fair that these fine chaps are allowed to do so without the silly ' I liked them before you so I know better' crap. Lets face it there aint much of value that eminates from Ayrshire, they should be celebrated !
