Bring back the 80s!
The single "Only You" was released nearly 24 years ago and every time I hear it it still has the same effect on me - captivating me, pulling me into it's melancholy world. Simple but clever production plus Alison's Moyet's amazing vocals combine to form this magical mix of 80's synth pop. Vince Clarke of course went on to become part of Erasure and you can hear Alison singing any one of their songs - her musical direction ultimately very different of course. I always thought "Situation" would have made a great Erasure track...the original and best unfortunatly not included on this compilation.
Synth Magic
Even now I am still impressed at how fresh and unique these tracks sound. Few bands have matched Yazoo for mixing two completely different styles of music into perfect pop. Moyet's beautiful soulful voice is superb over Clarke's signature synth melodies. One listen and your hooked!
