iTunes Review

Founding members Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, and Clem Burke infuse Panic of Girls, Blondie's first studio release in seven years, with the same day-glo sonic colors and hipster attitude found in the group's seminal hits. Harry’s vocals are huskier than they were 30 years ago but still convey her unique combination of girl-group sweetness and dominatrix bite. Tracks like “Mother”, “What I Heard”, and “Love Doesn’t Frighten Me” surge with classic new wave drive, while “The End the End” and a cover of Sophia George’s “Girlie Girlie” renew Blondie’s old love affair with reggae. There are 21st-century updates as well, such as the abrasive electro-pop vibe powering “D-Day”. Though Harry carries herself with a bit of grande dame elegance these days, the likes of “Horizontal Twist” and the Latin-styled “Wipe off My Sweat” are drenched in down ‘n’ dirty erotic gusto. Move over, Gaga and Katy—Debbie and her Blondie mates are dishing out flashy, trashy, ear-grabbing fun once again.

Simply Brilliant

What a fantastic return to form from the iconic band Blondie. This album is in the traditional eclectic style and covers everything from power pop to reggae, salsa to the most gorgeous ballad called China Shoes.

The band have been together for 37 years and it really is astonishing that they are able to make a record as good as this so late on in their careers. Debbie's vocals are mesmerising, the arrangements are in the moment and some of the lyrics are simply devine.

We should cherish the fact that Blondie still want to make new music. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

Brilliant 5 stars :)

This album is just brilliant. I only got into blondie a few years ago but now own nearly all their records :) and this is a brilliant addition to that :D it's better if you buy the collectors pack from tesco/asda etc. as you get the album with two exclusive bonus tracks which are really good too :)

I love this album!

Just like the last album, Curse Of Blondie, this is a great collection of pop/rock songs from one of the most iconic bands ever. If you're a fan you will love it!
