Laughable!
I am astonished that Tong would put his name to something like this. How embarassing. How could anyone in their right mind refer to Scissor Sisters, Lamb, Plastic Dreams etc. as dance classics. Clearly Pete has had nothing to do with this (at least I hope not) utter nonsense. I wouldn't be surprised if this was some record company idiot that put this together
Things aint what they seem...
I originally wrote a scathing review of this 'album' but having checked on the net this is actually only a small selection of a massive TRIPLE disc box set. The discs are titled Top Level, Superclubbing and Warehouse and have 17 plus totally classic tracks on each. And there's no Junior Senior or Lamb. What are iTunes up to eh?????

I'm sure this album is meant with the best intentions at heart and not as a cynical ploy to cash in on a popular radio dj, but if PT really believes that these are essential classics then he really has missed something from the last 20 years. Perhaps the plan was to release an album that wasn't a regurgitation of the same albums regularly produced by MoS and others, with all the same "old skool" classics on them. If so, I applaud the sentiment, but the fact is that there are numerous better examples of classic dance tracks than the list of 13 on this album and you don't have to go back to 1986 to find them. If you really want a collection of songs that are true classics, my advice is to hunt around the music store for other dance compilations and buy the various singles that mean something to you. Then build your own iPod playlist and enjoy!
