Customer Reviews
If you have a small child - you have to buy this album !
This Album is fabulous value, but even if it cost four times the price I would still recommend it. My four year old sits transfixed by the music and the story - completely transported into it's world. Dame Edna does a great job as the narrator for both Peter and the wolf. It's also really interesting hearing Barry Humphries as himself narrating Babar the Elephant. *******
REVIEW OF PETER AND THE WOLF
This CD is the best recording I have heard of Peter and the Wolf in a long time. Dame Edna Everage injects comedy into an otherwise serious work of art and seemingly does not ruin the style of the piece. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra are certainly at their best and give a spectacular performance in this recording. Also, aside from the artistic success of the CD, it is also great value for money, split up into 30 sections and only for a mere £4.74. This does not mean a lack of integrity or quality. I was however slightly peeved that, later on in the week in which I had purchased the CD, I had found the same disc in an admitedly "failing" store for an amazingly cheap £2.99. However aside from this minor annoyance, the recording is a great success and a classic must have for your iPod.
