iTunes Review

The '90s most spectacularly successful techno wizard was also the genre's most consistently fascinating enigma: an artist who ambitiously blurred the distinction between club mixer and musician, and a man who embraced Christian mysticism even as he produced the soundtrack to the era's hedonistic abandon. After an ill-advised foray into guitar-driven alt-rock on '96's Animal Rights and a return to dance roots the following year on I Like to Score, Moby produced the masterpiece that also broke him into the mainstream. Play channels sources as varied as vintage blues and gospel recordings ("Honey," "Find My Baby," "South Side") into an organic, often transcendent new wholes, even as he bobs and weaves between ethereal fluff like "Porcelain" and the more traditional grooves of "Bodyrock."

Play is Moby's best

Play is Moby's best CD. It is even better than his new Destroyed which is also good. If you have to choose from the two download this one or Hotel. If you like this music then you should also download Eric Walker Tangier Dream which is awesome all around. His songs Dreamscape, Alien Space, and Dimension Walker are the best tracks, yet the whole cd is a must buy. I look forward to seeing you in concert at the coming Festival. Moby rules!

I forgot how good Moby is.

After looking at the review of Gnarls Barkley's album someone mentioned Moby's other album 'B side' being good, so I checked it out, then I came across this album and remembered all these great songs. This an album full of memorable and humable tunes, its also quite relaxing - the song porcelain especially!

Breath taking and moving.

An all round corker of a CD. This is Moby at his best. Listening to these tracks is like watching a movie. If you have even the remotest interest in Moby's music this is the one to get!!!

Moby was one of the most controversial figures in techno music, alternately praised for bringing a face to the notoriously anonymous electronic genre and scorned by hordes of techno artists and fans for diluting and trivializing the form. In either case, Moby was one of the most important dance music figures of the early '90s, helping bring the music to a mainstream audience both in England and in America. Moby fused rapid disco beats with heavy distorted guitars, punk rhythms, and detailed productions...
