Hella Better Dancer, the start of something big.
This EP is just the start of Hella Better Dancer's road to stardom. They are an incredibly talented virtuoso 4 piece band, young, dexterous, cool and easy on my ears. For me, Hella Better Dancer represent well the upcoming young talent in the music industry sweeping through Britain. Forget Justin Bieber and Simon Cowell's spoon fed rubbish that have been dominating the charts for too long. HBD will and can be loved, enjoyed and listened to by everyone (not just by teenage girls). This band want success and they deserve success. They have performed extremely competently at every gig I have seen them at and there is variety in their music.
The EP itself is really a bargain for the variety, artistry and fantastic songs that you get for just £3.16 Fuse takes a while to get into but the song grows on you as it goes on. The guitar is fantastic as it slowly builds up to 'The City is such a freighting place' which really is music of great finesse. The song really inspires you to sing along. In the song 'The City Sea', as the drum beat gets faster and faster it leads up to the instrumental part of the song which really is fantastic. Stay the same is possibly my favorite Hella Better Dancer song. The guitars start off the song and then the when the drum beat starts in the mood changes. The Rhythm in this song is truly brilliant and with the clever and powerful lyrics the song is a true master piece. Might I add that the bass in this song is truly excellent.
The lyrics in HBD songs are truly dazzling. Telling a great story that entices the listener, really allows them to enjoy the song and sets the song in your mind. The song 'Fuse' explains that 'the city is such a frightening place'. For an upcoming, young and talented band, the city is such a frightening place. Its a daunting prospect to establish ones self within the music industry. But I can safely say that I'm sure that Hella Better dancer will live up to my expectations. If they carry on playing, writing and producing songs so proficiently, then I'm sure that they will be successful. A real credit to this band who have worked hard to be able to play their songs so well. I know that any band who are lucky enough to be great songwriters, have an excellent vocalist and guitarist, bassist, lead guitarist, drummer and the backing of passionate fans will do well.
I wish Hella Better Dancer all the best and to be honest, for £3.16 you honestly can't go wrong.
