Brilliant mixes of classic - nay, essential - pop music

Wow - if anyone was swithering about getting this, let me just say that it is worth getting for the 'Mark Pichiotti Strumapella Remix'(!) of Freedom. Freedom, a guitar-y single from the Loveboat album was a pretty disappointing effort and not a great single IMHO. This, however, is... brilliant! It's 8m 11s of an absolutely blistering flamenco guitar riffing with Andy's vocals sounding far more desperate and passionate across it. Has to be my favourite mix/remix of a previous Erasure song ever! That's not to say that the other tracks aren't note-worthy. Andy and JC's remix of Drama! is superlative too. My only criticism is that this could so easily have been a double album, or even a 40-track remix project

Years of quality

After 21 years Erasure are still the pioneers of pop, look no further than this and the forthcoming album release for evidence. Packed with quality, even the years from 98 onwards when the public and media have ignored them they still shine. This collection of remixes contain much of the lyrical genius of Bell and the craftwork of Clarke, all though with an up to date twist in the sound. Great buy at great value

Erasure at their best...

Being waiting for this for months, the waits finally over , the best remixed mini album ever with all erasures greatest hits remixed and brought up to date and now waiting for their greatest hits album in a few weeks 'total pop'...

Like Yaz and Depeche Mode, Erasure were a synth-based group, but they had stronger dance inclinations, as well as a sharper, more accessible sense of pop songcraft, than either of Clarke's previous bands. Furthermore, Erasure had the flamboyantly eccentric Andy Bell — one of the first openly gay performers in pop music — as their focal...
