Classic Electronic Disco
This is a brilliant album, effortlessly Instacool, an essential purchase for late night disco cats.
Love the nod to Miami soundmachine in Baby cant Stop. The Moroder and Donns Summer in Lets Practise and beautiful hooks in High & Low. Its soft disco in the way of Metro Area & down tempo Cagedbaby or Royksopp, the drums take a bounce beat, lazy snares, disco claps.
GO! see Lindstrom live even if its just to see the headband.
A Meeting of Moroder & Quincy Jones
This album already had a high quota of quality tracks before I heard the rest. 'Let It Happen', 'Music In My Mind', 'Lets Practise' and 'Baby Can't Stop' all being great but released in advance of the long player. However this album has very little filler. In fact it would have had no filler if it wasn't for 'Never Say Never', Pointless noodling backwards effects and not a lot else. If it wasn't for this track I would have given this album 5 stars. Yet everything else here is of the very high quality that we have come to expect from Lindstrom. 'Lovesick' & 'High & Low' real first listen high points. The vocals add something great and make this one of Lindstrom's more commercial recordings. I love his stuff and I love this. Discotastic!
Timeless Party Tape
We'll be listening to this in 20 years time. It's that good. Attitude, balance, poise and great reference points. Pastiche when it's this good is an art form. 'Baby Can't Stop' is Michael Jackson. 'High and Low' and 'Music in My Mind' like something Imagination might do, I could go on and you'll know who I mean. Nights out don't come better than this. I'm sure they love Prince too. And Talking Heads, Fat Larry's Band, The SOS band, Silver Convention.
