If you are only marginally into Depeche Mode, I'd buy this album. It's incredible value - and if you buy it on i-tunes you won't have to read the awful, boot-licking liner notes. Some of the finest remixes from their career are represented - 'Shout,' 'Never Let Me Down Again,' 'Painkiller' - and the remixers are often drawn from among dance's finest groundbreakers - DJ Shadow, Renegade Soundwave, Air, Goldfrapp, Dave Clarke. And to make this even greater value for money, there are stunning new remixes of old tunes - 'Little 15' (which I like better than its turgid original) the trancetastic 'Photographic' and Mike Shinoda's rocking 'Enjoy The Silence' - far outstripping any of the disappointing remixes that accompanied this great song's original release. It's not all thumbs up, though - try and spot the difference between Danniel Miller's' 'World In Your Eyes' and the original, try not to grind your teeth to Underworld's 'Barrell of a Gun' and, okay, so Adrian Sherwood's 'Are People People?' was radical and cutting edge - but is it really any good? And why, oh, why did they put the dull as hell Capitol Mix of Policy of Truth when there was an ambient KLF mix out there complete with sampled sheep and Bob Hoskins? And where is the definitive, emotionally charged Highland Mix of 'Stripped?' Gripes aside, though, this is a great investment. Download away, I say.

Depeche Mode - 37 monsterous tracks all for £10.99

Wowee, I was a casual fan of some of Depeche Mode's big hits (my dad absolutely loves them) so I thought I would get this great album off i-tunes not realising there were 37 tracks, and some were even done by decent dj's like timo maas etc...anyways, what was originally a present for my Dad turned out to be great for me and I have really took a likin to a few of DM's other less-known songs. Thankyou I-Tunes! Asherly (a 16 yr old lad with a penchant for 80's music)

Worth The Wedge

A great history of dance music styles encapsulated in one album. Some do sound a little dated, yet the limitations of the equipment used at the time adds to the charm. Having said that, the 04 remixes really do excel - dear old Ulrich's remix of "Little 15" and Goldfrapp's "Halo" remix are Scooby Doo.

Originally a product of Britain's new romantic movement, Depeche Mode went on to become the quintessential electro-pop band of the 1980s.
