a true master at work

Paul Woolford is undoubtedly a DJs DJ and a producers producer. It's probably fair to say he currently enjoys more respect from his peers than the wider public, though a We Love Space residency in Ibiza and releases on his own Intimacy label are going a long way to cement his overall reputation.

But in my opinion it's this Platform release, his first full, 2xCD compilation, which stands as a true, wide-angle view of his considerable talents: original productions, exclusive edits and one of the most incredible displays of creative DJing (check how certain tunes weave in and out of the tracklist, some even running over both discs) are all, literally, thrown into the mix.

In an age when compilations are ten a penny this is one of the classiest examples doing the rounds. Highly recommended for all fans of dance music.

rak

im a big fan of sasha and digweed and always look for a cd that has alot of passion and thought put into it and flows somewhere. this does just that, if your a big prog fan like meself get it bought. i dont rate paul woolford normally but this cd has alot of character and perfect for them bike rides or car journeys when you want to go on a journey yourself. buy it, its sounds fresh aswell and will certainley be on me iphone for a while, remember you get all the singles aswell. perfect for 7.99 well done paul!

Average

Was expecting a bit more from this mix tbh. The two mixes both start off well enough but then loose their way for the last half and by that time the monotony has kicked in rendering it a pretty bland set. Think the renaisance team need to up their game a bit because there has been a few lacklustre release from them(this and borattos). They dont want to end up on the same boat as global underground, who have lost nearly all their credibility as a label lately. maybe I-tunes should try to sign up EQs balance series or Fabric as these guys put quality before sales targets.
