iTunes Review
White Lies’ debut, To Lose My Life, was a strong effort, earning both plenty of fans and critical praise, but Ritual runs the risk of stirring the backlash pot with its clean and shiny perfection of the goth-revival sound (Killers, Interpol, etc). That said, we rally to the band’s side, and tout their mastering of the genre, their knack for dramatic crescendos built on waves of sleek, icy synths, barbed guitars and impossible to ignore dance beats ... all of which support Harry McVeigh’s impressive baritone, uncannily similar at times to the king of gothic punk, the Damned’s Dave Vanian. Yes, the Damned and Joy Division were a long time ago, but White Lies admirably do their part in keeping those bands’ spirits alive. Ritual satisfies with both MTV-ready songs for hits-seekers, and songs created with more in mind than the charts; you gotta admire the noise-scape underlying “The Power & the Glory” and the chamber-goth-meets-soul of “Peace & Quiet”. We sense stealthy evolution ahead.

Good
Those who give 1 stars are clearly just not fans of this band or the genre of music they're involved in.
Personally for me it's not their best work, but it's good. They don't have that spark from the first album.
It's a good effort, not the biggest letdown though, beats anything on the iTunes top 10. (jessie j)
Already part of my daily "Ritual"!
Being a fan of the first album, "To Lose My Life", White Lies had a lot to live up to. The Price of Love was fantastic! Luckily, White Lies have not disappointed - Ritual lives up to To Lose My Life and in some parts, betters it. The standout tracks for me upon first lesson are; "Is Love", "Strangers", "Bigger Than Us", "Holy Ghost" and "Bad Love", though I expect that when I give the album a few more listens, the other tracks will definitely grow on me, as is what happened with the first album.
If you were a fan of the first album, I would highly recommend getting your hands on this one - excellence is an understatement.
Ritual
Sorry, but I have to disagree with every other review so far. This is a massive disappointment and nowhere near as good as their first album. I was a huge fan of that one from the first listen and was looking forward to this album so much. The tracks are all dismal and his vocals sound like he is making up the tune as he goes along. Ritual is right, ritual suicide. What a depressing collection of tracks. It is like the emperors clothes, people think it should be good, so they say it is, when it simply isn't. One good track "Bigger than us". The rest are invisible!!!!!
