The perfect homage to the original
This is a fantastic representation of how amazing the Oxfordshire music scene currently is some totally phenomenal cover.
Round the Bends
If you want Radiohead "The Bends" then go out and buy it, for this is not it. Instead, this is a fairly free interpretation, full of surprises and moments of sheer beauty. Needs several listenings-to to really appreciate it, and to dissassociate your mind from the original, but you will be rewarded by a great body of work. High point for me is Winchell Riots, who take Nice Dream up to a sublime level.
Kills a fantastic album...
Now, before listening to this album i went in with an open mind. I wasn't expecting them at all to match Radiohead's classic, I thought it'd be enjoyable. It wasn't. I cant think of one good cover version on this album. The worst though is The Evenings version of "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" It was a complete mockery of a masterpiece of a song!
Well done for trying though, and it is for a good cause...
