Perfecto

This is beautiful collection of instantly recognisable songs. There are some firm favourites here; The Lord is my shepherd, Abide with me, and Angus Dei are a few known to many but its Leonard Cohens Hallelujah and Down to the river to pray that really stand out. Katherines voice is perfection and the arrangements lend a subtely and neatness to the production which compliment Katherines delicate voice and all this sits well with subject matter of the songs. There is a gentle feeling of humbleness and gratitude here and it delivers it beautifully to the listener. There is no doubt Katherine is a great talent. This a one of her finest releases to date. I heartily recommend it.

Overrated

How can songs such as Hallelujah be put under the label of 'sacred aria'? Don't get me wrong, all the tracks on this album are lovely songs/pieces in their own right but when lumped together as an obvious attempt to milk the Katherine Jenkins gravy train they are substandard. I have plenty of choral experience and know many sopranos and mezzos who possess greater voice control, intonation and musicality than Katherine Jenkins and it is a shame that this barbie lookalike seems to be the standard bearer of the modern day classical singer.
