Customer Reviews
Let's all copy deadmau5
Ok, so to begin with "Silence" doesn't need another set of remixes, the last set weren't all that great. The track, despite being a classic has been totally played out and I'd thank nettwerk if they'd kindly stop commissioning crappy remixes of it. This remix is a blatent copy of Deadmau5's style which, incidentally is a poor choice of styles to copy if there ever was one. How difficult is it to construct a track of 8th notes and add some vocals over the top? Not very. For the sake of good music, do not buy this release.
Not as good as Tiesto's version, but no-one's forcing you to buy it
Despite having a fantastic back catalogue, Delerium are only really known in the UK for just the one song. It's not really a surprise then that the record company keep commissioning remixes of it – and those of us who are not naïve will realise and accept this. I can’t understand why people feel the need to complain about the existence of a remix that no-one is forcing them to buy. Let’s face it: the Tiesto version will always be the best, but if you’re in a club and this new remix comes on, are you really going to complain because it’s not the same version that you’ve heard a hundred times? Being objective, I don’t think the remix brings anything new to the song, but if it brings new listeners to Delerium’s music then I’m happy for them.
Quality
Was in a bar last night and heard this remix, was still in my head when I woke up, took me a while to track it down on iTunes. The original song was awesome but was subject to some severe overplay, remixes have come and gone but this one really hits the spot. Track has an awesome baseline and in my opinion gives back some of the magic of the originial. Well worth buying.
