Album Review

Under the guidance of Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley — the kings of early-'80s British pop — Bush turn in an album that follows all the rules and sounds of American hard rock, specifically Nirvana and Pearl Jam. The group’s two major hits, "Everything Zen" and "Little Things,” are slick, assured professional replications of Nirvana's trademarks, but Bush also have a flair for big hooks and in Gavin Rossdale a frontman who has movie star charisma, all elements that turn Sixteen Stone into successful pop-grunge.

Customer Reviews

Still amazing even after all these years!!

Im glad that this album is now finally on itunes!! Ive had it for about 10 years now and a few of my all time fave songs are on here.... Glycerine, Body and Everything Zen, but i love the whole thing even now! If you dont have it, then buy it!

So brilliant, yet so underrated.

Bush and Gavin Rossdale are inspired and brilliant, it's such a shame that judgemental British fans dismissed them as a rip-off of Nirvana... and then went on to completely ruin '00s music as a whole. Should be a classic album in my opinion.

Inspired

Definitely their best album by far, and much better than Razorback Suitcase, which has only one good track in my opinion! One of my favourite albums! I'm just glad it's on iTunes, as my CD is knackered..!

Formed in late 1992 by Rossdale, Bush landed an American record deal before they had a British label. Sixteen Stone, their debut album produced by Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley (producers of early-'80s hits by Madness and Elvis Costello,...
