The U.S. debut solo album by Frou Frou vocalist Imogen Heap is a captivating record that fuses innovative electronic soundscapes with a strong female voice. If "Goodnight and Go" — a lilting, pulsating, and hit-ready concoction — and the alluring, synthesized pop of "Hide and Seek" are the most direct numbers, experimental numbers like the ethereal "Have You Got It in You?" plus the rhythm-fueled "Headlock" and "Loose Ends" suggest Heap has written and produced the finest electro/alt rock CD of 2005. Timeless Quality
This album doesnt mess around getting going, Headlock lives up to its title, Heaps beautiful synth electronic sounds grab you, immersing you in a stereosonic soundscape, that you explore as the album progresses, Goodnight and Go locks you into an almost candy coated pop electronica, as the songs procede you begin to get a real flavour for the gift that this singer/songwriter has, she manages to float between genres without doing any injustices to the genres and influences she accesses. "Speak For Yourself" takes you on a journey that will keep you engaged from the very outset to the end. Stand out tracks include Goodnight And Go, Just For Now, and The Moment I Said It.

Simply Stunning
This album redefines music itself; there are no two ways about it. From the ballad-to-up-tempo transition of headlock, to the haunting; incandescent melodies of hide and seek; Speak for Yourself keeps the listener enthralled at every turn. How this girl hasn't made it big yet the likes of kate nash and adele *shudders* have; I have no idea, though I'm positive that her next album will propell her to the stardom she truly deserves.
