Yay! ( In general)
Yay! Golden Brown Rocks! But... I bought it about 5 days ago and it is impossible that I ever could have listened to it 195 times! Right? Whats up with my itunes?!
Long live the Stranglers!
Many people had never heard of the Stranglers until the timeless classic Golden Brown hit the charts, which is a great shame as this group of artists were making fantastic music long before. Try black and White, The Raven and Rattus Novegicus which also offer some fantastic bass and lyrics. And for a real saucy treat listen to Bring on the nubiles but strictly for over 18's!

The Stranglers formed as the Guildford Stranglers in the southern England village of Chiddingfold (near Guildford) in 1974, plowing a heavily Doors-influenced furrow through the local pub rock scene — such as it was. Of the four founding members, only Hugh Cornwell had any kind of recognizable historical pedigree, having played alongside Richard Thompson in the schoolboy band Emil & the Detectives.
