Amazing Album, Even More Amazing Live
These guys are one of the most important and original bands in the World right now. They have their own sound that translates at a higher emotive level than any other band I can think of. We saw them play in London at The Hammersmith Appollo, in Feb this year, and it was one of the best gigs i've ever been to, right up there with Royksopp at The Brixton Academy last year (and 3 encores is how good they were). The album is strong throughout, but highlights have to be the BBC endorsed Hoppipolla, and my personal favourite track - Gong. A very special piece of music, indeed.

A fantastic album and Hoppipolla is the jewel in its diamond encrusted crown. Buy this album!!!
From the heavens (well...Iceland)
It doesn't matter if you don't like the idea of listening to a song in a foreign language, especially one as strange as Icelandic, because this album could appeal to anyone around the world. Icelandic is such a beautiful and other-worldly language, and when you combine this with Jonsi's spellbinding falsetto, you have a deadly combination. Sigur Ros's songs have been known to make people cry, and after listening to 'Hoppipolla' and 'Glosoli', now I know why. The music is lengthy, and some may describe it as boring, but if you concentrate on the beauty of it, you will be dumbstruck. Get this now and drift into sleep.......
