Another great album from Damh the Bard
A departure from his previous albums in that he is using traditional songs rather than self-penned tracks. However, he has adapted the musical arrangement to leave a distinctive Damh the Bard signature to these classic songs.
They have an instant familiarity and are readily sung along to, as demonstarted when he performed Patapan, Hal an Tow and Wild Mountain Thyme live to an audience that had not heard him perform them before but who were able to cheerfully, and actively,participate.
Add to that yet another impressive album cover drawn by Cerri Lee
He just keeps getting better and better. Buy this!
Another terrific album from Damh the Bard. What a winner! I love this from the opening of The Crow Man to the end. Instead of self writing his music and lyrics as Damh has on his last four albums this is a Damh the Bard special take on old existing folk songs from the past. I can imagine sitting outside the village pub on a beautiful summers day, merriment abounding with friends, listening to this. This is destined to become a classic and doesn't disappoint. Thanks Damh. Keep them coming!
AMAZING
As all the other albums....absolutely transports you back to old Pagan Britain, i love it, Bonny Black Hare reminds me of sitting at the Market Cross in Glastonbury, just 'being'
