Soothing / Breathtaking
I only heard of Anna Leddra-Chapman a few weeks ago whilst browsing for new music on the internet, but her album sampler immediately hooked me! I have not been disappointed - Telling Tales is an impressive debut. I won't go through and detail every song, but favourites so far? 'Summer Song' (bouncy and playful - "let your hair loose, my dear"), 'Edie' (quieter song that builds up with some nicely layered strings), 'Saving You' (impassioned song questioning a relationship with someone who's dragging you down - "I've got to stop saving you"), and the song that made me want to instant-purchase this album, 'A Little Easier' (the sample should speak for itself really!). This girl deserves huge success. And her accent is lovely :)
Spellbinding listening for the pefect Sunday!
Magic from the very first track, Telling Tales doesn't fail to disappoint. The first single from the album, 'Story' is enchanting and catchy and is the very reason for me purchasing this album. The rest of the album caught me in very much the same way, dancing through a rollercoaster of emotions and well arranged melodies. Favourites for me have to be 'Edie', 'Wrap me up' and 'Wine Glass' - which has managed to move me to tears every time I've listened.
The whole album has a beautiful innocence, full of hopes and dreams and I absolutely love it! Made my Sunday just perfect!
Heart warming, soul soothing, perfection personified
To find the words to describe what this album has done for me, and if there's any justice, the music industry as a whole is no easy feat. Put at its simplest, if you haven't heard of Leddra Chapman, or heard this album, you simply haven't listened to music as it is meant to be before. Her voice, her lyrics, her melody and passion all come through in every single song this album offers. My wonderful friend 'Weezabird' introduced me to 'Story' and it simply blew me away. There has been not one day since release that i haven't played this album. At home, in the office, in the car. And i am not too proud to say the joy this has brought me has reduced me to tears on more than one occasion.
Buy this album. Buy it twice. And i guarantee you, you will never regret it. Perfection personified
