Star Quality
The Secret Machines deserve so much more succes than they have currently because of this, an album of power, intenisty and raw emotion. For the most part, the Machines dispose of some of the more proggy moments on their debut in favour of bigger melodies. They have a hit waiting to happen (and possibly a video award) for the sublime 'Lightning Blue Eyes', with Benjamin's wailing guitar work, Josh Garza's Bolanesque booming drums and Brandon's gloriously dispassionate vocal. Elswhere, All At Once is a raw and rollocking tune with a great chorus, 1000 Seconds is the Machines' best ballad but highlights are everywhere in one form or another, be it a great chorus, riff or even title. secret machines have grabbed my heart. Only downloaded it because of the 30 second previews and my dad saying they sounded a bit bowie, but with more drums on t.o.t.p. The climactic chorus of 'lightning blue eyes' contrasts the heavy beat of 'daddy's in the doldrums'. Not a bad song on this album and fantastic value being only 8 songs. Buy this now or you will hate yourselves forever when they get uber famous which they will.
Addictive...
This is such a amazing ablum purely because I want to listen to it over and over again... Great one to sing and play guitar to, I think that "Lightning Blue Eyes" is possibly one of the best songs in existance, with an inspirational video to go with it... Lookin' out for u in the future guys, remember you can't rush genius, but can't wait...=]
