People need to open their minds and ears, and actually LISTEN
The below reviews are utterly stupid and should be deleted by a moderator or something. I hate that people are so closed minded to opera - it's a beautiful artform, and there are many opera singers of incredible talent and skill. And here, incidently, is one of them. Rolando Villazon is exceptional. Personally, i think this album is pandering to a slightly wider audience than Villazon's recordings usually would ie. it's a bit "commercial". But, if you're new to opera, something like this may well be a good start. The duet from La Boheme is the highpoint of the album for me.
Open your mind
Sure, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you do not like opera, fine, that is your prerogative. I think Oasis are rubbish. And Coldplay are dull and boring. However, I like pop, rock, folk, Indian, salsa etc etc. Music speaks to different people in different ways. Opera has lasted for a long time before you (you sound very young and all or nothing) and it will last despite what you think. A great voice is a great voice, no matter the style. You may not like what he sings but Rolando is a genius. You only have to listen to Popstar to Operastar to see the difference training makes.
Mind you, I was not a fan of classical music when I was younger but I know better now!

If you don't like a genre of music or any media for that matter don't comment on it. I do not like rap but I do not go around denigrating the best rap artists like a closed minded fool. I accept my tastes are different to the next persons. So I you like tennors and opera then this is a marvelous selection from the
Rolando. Range, timbre and passion as good as you will ever hear from a dramatic tenor. Strainght onto my playlist now.
