iTunes Review
Let's get right to the point here: My Chemical Romance's third studio album is much more than a major creative leap for the black, red and mascara-tinged heroes of the beaten, the broken and the New Jersey-bred. It's also one of the most immediately accessible, jugular-draining concept albums in years. That's because it overshadows any hint of pretension with pop pleasantries of a glam, classic rock and operatic nature, even as singer Gerard Way funnels his finest storytelling skills into a gleefully morbid tale of cancer and chemo, final words and flatlines. In simple terms, The Black Parade is the Sgt. Peppers' of the Tim Burton/Warped Tour generation, from its carefully plotted story arc to sleeve art with skeletons posing as a militaristic marching band. In more debatable words, it's easily the best Top 40 rock record you'll hear this year––self-conscious to a shameless degree and a tasteful tribute to the Queen's and the Bowie's it "borrows" from in scope and sound.

marmite? what a load of old sh*t!
I believe that everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. Even MCR themselves said that it was ok to hate them. I completely agree, even though I love them. However, if they are so called 'Kings of Emo', why is it, that at every live show, Gerard Way tells his audience (full of adults and kids) NOT to be a stupid emo git? Why does he tell all those people, or all that will listen, NOT to be scared of or hate life, NOT to self destruct, and that they are strong; that they can survive and grown strong no matter what life throws at them.? If I may refer you to Polly and Lithium on Nirvana's legendary 'Nevermind' album: these songs contain lyrics such as 'You can cut yourself' and '...that’s ok I’ll shoot my head' (quite ironic really!). These songs as well as many other pieces in Nirvana's repertoire display self-destructive innuendo that would, to our forms of adolescent primitive understanding be classified and 'emo'. Yet Nirvana has not been labelled, though clearly thay stand for everything that 'emo' stands for. MCR on the other hand are the complete opposite. Just because they have the word 'razorblade' in one of their songs doesn’t make them suicidal maniacs! MCR realise that a large percentage of their audience will be teenage kids, who many of which may be emotionally confused, and may be questioning a lot of things. MCR realise that they can talk to these kids, in a way that they will defiantly understand: through music. MCR realise that they are role models to many, if not most of these young people, and that they, as role models can influence these kids even more than their best friends, teachers or even parents. Backstage, where they get to meet their fans, sometimes they are faced with questions, problems, and sometimes their darkest fears. However the band's response is always the same, always have hope, and never give up. This band's enthusiasm is shown beautifully and relevantly on this album. And throughout the years, as we've seen these boys grow and develop into something 'radio friendly' at times, their powerful message still remains the same: always have hope. Last time I checked, hope wasn't considered 'A threat to our children'. So nah!
The Black Parade's Come - And It's Got Me
Surely the best album of the three they have ever made?! The guitar string bending, pick scraping excellence of this album is unexplainable. When you first hear the album...you're like..'WHAT?!' Where is the old Gerard's voice...and then slowly ever so slowly. We hear it creep back in. Oh the joy of it all. When I first heard the song 'Welcome To The Black Parade' I was horrified...MORTIFIED in fact. How could Gerard and the KREW do such a thing?! And then it grew on me. And i ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Songs I order you to put on repeat - Cancer - it's a tearful experience but oh sooo good! The End. - acoustic intro leads into a spectacular guitar twanging and drum slamming track. This Is How I Disappear - OH SO GOOD! Basically all of the songs you must put on repeat - Especially TEENAGERS! - it's so random but it's so good! Tracks to skip - NONE! Go out Buy It Listen To It Love It Just Don't Deny It's Beautifullness!! The Black Parade's Come - And It's Got Me! Has It Got You?
