iTunes Review

“D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” is perhaps the most pointed track (it appears twice) on 2009’s The Blueprint 3, the third and final (?) album in the “Blueprint:” series. Though it sounds like bragging when Jay-Z rails against one of the music business’ most over-used and abused technological innovations, it does add a tougher drive and focus to the underlying music. Jay-Z uses a slew of guests to help flesh out his musical vision here. Kanye West produces seven tracks (guesting on “Hate” as well), Timbaland handles three, while Young Jeezy (“Real As It Gets”), Drake (“Off That”), Swizz Beats (“On to the Next One”), Pharrell (“So Ambitious”) and Kid Cudi (“Already Home”) guest on tracks for an all-star party feel that ranges from raw and real to freaked out and spacey. Alicia Keys joins the chorus of “Empire State of Mind”, a track that Jay-Z the marketer might try pitching to the New York State Chamber of Commerce.

Still the best in the game

I have only recently started listening to Jay-Z's music and after listening to his previous albums, was really looking forward to this album. I was definately not disappointed! Superb album from start to finish. My personal favourite's are: Young Forever, D.O.A, Run this Town, Empire State of Mind, Off That, Already Home and Hate. Not to say the rest aren't good its just that these songs stand out. If you like Jay-Z then this is a must buy. Great album.

Solid

This has got to be the most anticipated hip/hop album of the year and I have personally been waiting for BP3 for a long time. It's not as good as BP1 or even BP2, but it's engaging from beginning to end and there are some hot tracks here.

It's gotten some bad reviews, but when you're held as the best/most successful, there will always be negativity. Comparing this to Reasonable doubt shows it's not his best, but then this isn't supposed to be a remake of Reasonable Doubt. It's a progression and it shows he is still the best, even when he releases something that doesn't better his previous work.

The album starts better than it finishes. He sounds hungry in What We Talkin' About, Empire State Of Mind is an instant classic and while the hook in Thankyou is pretty average at best, the chorus makes up for it and is a decent track.

Overall, it's a solid album and will surely be number 11 to make number 1.

Only 2 good tracks dissapointed!!!
