Wow!! Having never come across Wanda Jackson before, and being a lover of R'n'R, Country & guitar based music, words fail me. I heard an interview with the lady on UK Radio 4, they played a couple of tracks. Had to be bought. Genius. It's going to cost me a fortune for the entire back catalogue. Age is clearly not a barrier to true talent. Go, Wanda, go!!

A fine album from a Lady who has given so much to the world of music and continues to do so, to those not familiar with Wanda check out some of her other stuff- To those who make disrespectful comments to such a legend...I'd say grow up and check out your music history because without such great pioneering artists as Wanda you would not have a lot of the music you have today. Rock on Wanda, the party continues!!!!!!!

"60 years too late.." !? Do your homework muppet... Try making music FOR 60 years! Wanda Jackson, born 1937, pioneering female artist, briefly dated Elvis, Amy LaVere played her in the Johnny Cash biopic "Walk The Line" etc etc....
In terms of Wanda's heyday works (pre-country and gospel), not much has changed, it is a cracking step-back in time and individual tracks and the album itself could have easily been released at any time during the 50s and 60s. Testament to artists of her calibre, this kind of music laid the foundations for today's Wanda and Dusty wannabe's to croon themselves hoarse! The Queen of rockabilly masterfully romps on here - her cover of Winehouse's "You Know That I'm No Good" is a belting turn of the tables, seeing a veritable rock n roll legend cover a track by one of her many imitators! Also her cover of Bob Dylan's "Thunder On The Mountain" will surely be used on a movie soundtrack at some point!?
I'm fairly sure that Jack White (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Dead Weather fame) produced the track and much if not all of this album. ... I am sure there is recent footage available online of her with Jack on both Letterman and Conan and for the UK fans on Jools Holland's Later With.. Hootenanny from New Year's just gone...
If you like old school rock n roll/rockabilly get this... They just don't release many records like this any more!!! A classic with contemporary tweaks!
