Wow! - Voodoo Magic

Turn this up loud! "The Push" is a stunning album - an exhilarating and electrifying outing from a visionary digital experimentalist, where every diverse track is a sparkling gem set to dazzle and delight the senses. Izzie Voodoo could be the twisted cousin of Goldfrapp with tunes that veer between dark electronica anthems a la Massive Attack, to a hint of female Nine Inch Nails and some of the catchiest Madonna-esque pop confections that I have heard in ages. The result is a sound that is totally original and hugely addictive. You just can't help but let yourself get carried away in the vortex of big beats, bigger choruses and layers of sultery, sexy, breathy vocals. Izzie's distinctively sensuous vocal style and polished delivery are the perfect accompaniment for her slickly delivered, pulsatingly hypnotic rock electronica and scintillating production. There are so many stand out tracks that is difficult to choose favourites. If there is any justice "Play Bomb", "Sound" and "Y'Know Me" will find their way onto the Radio One playlist and into the top ten, whereas tracks like "Dry Heat" and "Least Resistance" have a wonderfully organic earthy feel, emphasising the record's sonic diversity and range of mood and emotion. However "The Push" is best enjoyed by blasting through from beginning to end. It grabs you by the throat and holds you captivated for nearly fifty minutes whilst Izzie thrills you with every twist and turn of her unique voodoo magic. No sooner has the climactic crescendo of "The White LIne" finished ringing in your ears you feel the need to press PLAY and listen to the whole thing over again. Intoxicating and morish, well conceived and performed with real attitude. Total enjoyment!

What can I say? A stunning album, complete genius. In a world of sadly lacking musical taste, this album has brought a shining light to the dark recesses. I love 'Play Bomb', very unique song, if this alone gets no national air play, then there is no justice in the world....
Proud to be a Voodoo Bunny !!!
