A Trip Worth Taking

Sweeping from tender to ominous with ease, another beautiful film score from Nick Cave and Warren Ellis finds the wayward King and his Bad Seed indulging their gentler impulses to produce another perfectly pitched piece of music. Cave's delicate piano stylings combined with Ellis' hypnotic and inspiring string arrangements will stir your blood. Not as consistently brilliant as their score for "The Proposition", nevertheless, "The Road" has some beautiful tracks to offer, most notably, "The Mother", "The Boy" and "The Road". For the full effect go and see the brilliant John Hillcoat directed film or read McCarthy's novel with this haunting score on.

The road score review

A spectacular selection, truly inspirational and captivating. Really fitted the moments in the movie that need to be moving, tense, thrilling, eerie or gripping. Love 'the beach' really beutiful.

A Masterpiece

Aching beautiful, it perfectly captures the relentless horrors of reality set against the unstinting love the father has for his son. It is not a happy film, nor is it happy music. But it is touching and emotive...and one of my favourite soundtracks.
