A superb live album - but not the full story
This is Chris Rea's only live album and its worth the wait - the only problem with this set is that is the single CD version of the tour. There is a double CD with the rest of the concert tracks and more of the blues tracks that have made him so good since 2000. This set is mostly his early material and the two standout tracks are Stainsby Girls and Road to Hell - both outstanding in concert and well done here. Best track on this reduced set ? 'Somewhere between Highway 61' which is absolutely outstanding - if you like blues music ..
Chris Rea- Best seen live
This is a great album...especially his older stuff...the audiences are more appreciative of the familiar ..but great stuff from the early days. A must to see live!!!!
Shame it was his last tour.
I was at the Brighton Centre show and it was a fitting testament to a great slide guitar player. The audience didn't really buy into a lot of the bluesier stuff, but the solos were incredible. He never really got the kudos he deserved - mind you, I could have done without ever hearing Fool ever again. It was a terrible way to end the show..
