iTunes Review

The Singles concisely documents the efforts of partners Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory to fuse glam-rock attitude with ambient textures and electronica beats. This compilation offers most of the unit’s signature tunes, including the vampy workout “Ooh La La”, the coolly seductive “Black Cherry”, and the enraptured “Utopia” (heard here in “Genetically Enriched” form). Collectively, the tracks capture Alison’s abilities as a shape-shifting vocalist, proficient at intimate balladry (“A&E”), space-queen incantations (“Ride a White Horse”), and purring love odes (“Believer”). The production moves are just as diverse and daring, ranging from the widescreen disco of “Strict Machine” to the woozy bounce of “Happiness”. Extending the perimeters further are a pair of new songs—“Yellow Halo” and “Melancholy Sky”—that veer toward the mystical in their balmy pulsations and wistful themes. Goldfrapp continues to show a remarkable ability to please the pop crowd while lacing its work with subversion and transcendence.

Incredible

A must for any music fan. An eclectic collection of some of the best British music thats come out of the last 10 years. Why they havent won a Brit is beyond me!

Too little too late

Where's twist/caravan girl/fly me away? Let alone a missed opportunity to include some rare jems like satin chic (flaming lips mix) and/or some great b sides like yes sir, I can boogie.... Not very good at all

Great Collection of Alternative Club Anthems

I've always been a casual Goldfrapp fan so this is a perfect album for me... the album flows from great song to great song, many of the tracks reminding me of fun nights out in alternative clubs over the past 8 years (Ooh La La, Strict Machine,Train, Rocket), and I still do hear many of them in clubs.
The 2 new tracks are a great addition, Yellow Halo being superior.
