Album Review
Third Eye Blind's eponymous debut is catchier than the average post-grunge album, and that fact alone reveals a lot about the band. Instead of relying on standard, plodding grunge influences, Third Eye Blind draw heavily from the simple hook-laden traditions of classic arena rock, which makes the album more immediate. Unfortunately, this also makes it a little simplistic — the group can craft a naggingly memorable hook, as evidenced by the single "Semi-Charmed Life," but they aren't always able to fashion them into songs. Still, Third Eye Blind is easy on the ears, and its straight-ahead professionalism makes it a pleasurable listen for post-grungers.

Absolutely Incredible
This band are so underrated. They gained reasonable success in the US in the late 90's with this album inparticular, but in the UK? Not even a blip on the radar of the music industry. There are two songs most will recognize, 'Semi-Charmed Life' was a bouncy, catchy hit, and fans of American Pie may remember it from the soundtrack. 'Jumper' was also a hit, and was recently featured on 'Yes Man'. But past the mainstream hits are a collection of songs that will rival any alternative album. They delve into a few different genres, often bouncing from pop rock, to grunge, but each track is fantastic in its own right. The vocals are what make the album, the lead singer has such an incredible tone to his voice, not taking away from the other band members, the guitarist lays down some beautiful clean 'Motorcycle Drive By, Jumper etc' Riffs and Heavier distorted ones 'Narcolepsy, London etc.' Fave song on the album is Narcolepsy, but get it all, and give these guys a bit more recognition
