Very good return from Embrace

Although 'Out Of Nothing' was not the band's first album in some terms it brought Embrace onto a new level after a long time in the wilderness, admittedly helped by the Chris Martin influence for 'Gravity', but also because there were other good tracks on the album as well. On first listen 'This New Day' slightly disappointed me, but giving it a chance I rediscovered what brought me to enjoy 'Out Of Nothing' so much with well written potential anthems like 'I Can't Come Down', 'Exploding Machines', the new single 'Natures law' and the album title track 'This New Day' demonstrating the Leeds lads on fine form.

EPIC BRILLIANCE

Great to have Embrace back, glad they weren't away long either, with there last album 'Out Of Nothing' released just 18 months ago! Every song on this album is brilliant from the epic U2-esqe opener 'No Use Crying', the X&Y-esqe 'Exploding Machines' to the more intimate moments of 'I Can't Come Down' and of course the lead single 'Nature's Law'. I wasn't sure if Embrace could top 'Out of Nothing', but this album is a must-buy! Bring on their open-air forest dates! If you like this album check out 'Perfect Tension' by Paul Usher, and 'X&Y' by Coldplay.

True Review

Clear your mind do not listen with pre-concieved ideas of what you are about to buy . Let all the cold play comments stand by the wayside as this is unfair (this band has being around longer than them so who copied who). One song penned by Chris has being a blessing and a curse. Anyway the album itself is a cracking , mood swing of an album best summed up as night out but with a great after effect.

Biography

Formed: Yorkshire, England

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Following in the footsteps of Oasis and the Verve, Embrace became a minor pop sensation in post-Brit-pop Britain in the late '90s. Like Oasis, the group has a knack for big, anthemic hooks, yet they turn these catchy numbers into sweeping, sprawling, lugubrious rockers, much like the Verve. This synthesis earned the group an equal number of critics and detractors, but they were able...
