Tribute to Michael Jackosn a Legend and a Warrior by Clinark
If you loved Michael Jackson and you want to hear some of his classic songs fresh and updated, Clinark’s album is for you.
Clinark, aka The Reggae Torch, has blessed us with this great production, a Tribute to Michael Jackson a Legend and a Warrior. A classic album full of good vibes and capturing the essence of Jackson. Clinark’s tenor voice is sweet, enchanting and polished with ‘Heal the World’ ‘Liberian Girl’ and “Stranger in Moscow.”
The project started with single “I’ll be There” released just before Jacksons death in 2009. This great single was followed with “Smile,” Jackson’s favourite song. Clinark’s version has gained a new tempo and moved listeners to tears with the help of the Souls of Prophecy Choir and a great track from Reggae band from the House of Riddim. “Smile” will help you get ready for any day ahead.
“Never Can Say Goodbye” and “We’re Almost There” are great renditions and these versions make them seem like brand new classics all over again. This is Clinark at his best.
“You are Not Alone “&“I just Can’t Stop Loving You” retain their original R&B and Pop genre, yet Clinark delivers these songs as comfortably as his chosen style of Reggae, such is his talent, (a gem once hidden on the beautiful Island of Bermuda ,but now here for the world to discover).
Legendary musician’s brothers, Mafia and Fluxy were at their best as they worked on many of the songs on this album, as too were the backing vocalists Barbara Nap and Adele Harley who also featured on “I’ll Be There.” Listen out for the classical piano, brass & strings from Michael Martin on Heartbreak Hotel.
Most of this production was mixed at Stingray Studios, UK. Kevin Reeves of Universal Music, mastered most of the tracks on the album and co-incidentally he also mixed many Jackson’s work too.
Clinark makes his first venture in to Dancehall style with “Rock My World” and “Remember the Time.” Look out for Stanley Andrews on lead guitar in “Heartbreak Hotel” and “They Don’t Really Care about Us.” The contrast between Reggae and Rock guitar works magnificently with Stanley Andrew at the helm.
The final song “Gone Too Soon” is an enthralling tribute; Clinark delivers a mesmerising vocal with pin dropping sincerity. It is a tear jerking, but fitting tribute to the Great King of Pop. This album is top quality production that should be on your play list today.
